Major Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water supplies, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen rockets struck energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes overnight. A minor lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The strikes come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were bracing for more assaults.
